Venus Williams and her husband, Andrea Preti, turned heads with a rare public display of affection while attending England’s World Cup quarterfinal victory over Norway at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday.
Before kickoff, the newlyweds were spotted on the field posing for photos together, sharing a kiss and soaking up the spotlight ahead of the highly anticipated match.
Newlyweds Enjoy VIP Treatment in Miami
Williams and Preti, who married in Italy nine months ago before later making things official during a courthouse ceremony in Palm Beach, appeared completely at ease as they strolled across the pitch.
While fans aren’t typically allowed onto the field before matches, Williams received the VIP treatment thanks to her ties to the venue. The tennis icon is a minority owner of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, who call Hard Rock Stadium home.
Instead of being escorted away, the couple was greeted by photographers eager to capture the romantic moment.
Preti, a 38-year-old actor, model, writer, and director, was photographed planting a kiss on Williams’ cheek as she smiled. The pair also posed playfully by pretending to kick a soccer ball for the cameras.
Both coordinated in stylish Lacoste outfits, continuing Williams’ longtime partnership with the brand, which began in 2022.
Couple Relaxed in Luxury Suite During Match
After their on-field photo session, Williams and Preti watched the game from a luxury suite.
Fox Sports cameras later caught the couple enjoying glasses of white wine together, with fans on social media praising the sweet glimpse into their relationship.
Who Is Andrea Preti?
Although Williams is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, many viewers were curious about her husband.
Preti was born in Copenhagen before relocating to Italy as a teenager to pursue an acting career. He later studied at the Susan Batson Academy in New York and has built a career both in front of and behind the camera.
In 2014, he wrote, directed, and starred in the independent film One More Day. He has also appeared in several Italian television projects, including the drama A Professor and the 2023 reality series Temptation.
Williams Recently Competed at Wimbledon
The World Cup outing comes shortly after Williams’ return to Wimbledon.
The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion had originally planned to compete in doubles alongside her sister, Serena Williams, after the pair received a wildcard entry. However, Serena was forced to withdraw because of a swollen knee, leaving Venus without her doubles partner.
Williams still took part in the mixed doubles tournament with Germany’s Kevin Krawietz, but the duo was knocked out in the opening round.
