Princess Eugenie’s Father’s Day tribute this year centered entirely on the man she calls her family’s “chief child entertainer” and noticeably left out one person, her father, Prince Andrew.

On June 21, the royal took to Instagram to celebrate her husband, Jack Brooksbank, sharing two previously unseen family photos featuring the couple’s sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 3.

In one image, Brooksbank is seen walking hand in hand with the boys, while another captures him keeping one of his sons occupied in a church pew surrounded by toys and stickers.

Alongside the photos, Eugenie praised her husband’s parenting, describing him as “the best there is” and the family’s “chief child entertainer.” She added that their children “couldn’t ask for a better Dada.”

Prince Andrew’s relationship with his daughters has faced renewed scrutiny in recent months.

The sweet family celebration comes at a particularly exciting time for the couple, who are preparing to welcome their third child later this summer.

While the post was intended as a tribute to Brooksbank, royal watchers were quick to note what was missing. Eugenie made no mention of her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, nor did she include any photos or Father’s Day wishes directed toward him.

The omission has fueled ongoing speculation about the state of their relationship. According to recent reports, Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, have increasingly distanced themselves from their parents amid the continuing fallout surrounding Andrew’s legal troubles and public controversies.

Insiders have suggested that the sisters’ approach is motivated by a desire to protect their families and preserve their own public reputations. The distancing reportedly intensified following Andrew’s arrest earlier this year and his departure from Royal Lodge.

Signs of the separation have surfaced on multiple occasions in recent months. When Buckingham Palace announced Eugenie’s third pregnancy earlier this year, neither Andrew nor Sarah Ferguson was included in the official congratulatory statement, a move many viewed as significant.

Reports have also claimed that the divide has become so pronounced that Andrew learned about Eugenie’s pregnancy through his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, rather than directly from his daughter.

Although Eugenie’s Father’s Day post focused on celebrating Brooksbank’s role as a devoted father, the absence of any acknowledgment of Andrew has once again drawn attention to the increasingly visible distance between father and daughter.

Princess Eugenie and Beatrice’s housing arrangements:

The renewed attention on Eugenie’s relationship with her father comes as she and her sister, Princess Beatrice, face scrutiny over their own royal housing arrangements.

King Charles recently ordered a review of housing arrangements involving Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

Earlier this month, King Charles ordered a formal review of the discounted lease agreements that allow the sisters to live in royal properties funded through his Privy Purse.

According to a recent National Audit Office report, Beatrice’s residence at St James’s Palace and Eugenie’s home, Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace, are leased at rates significantly below market value.

King Charles has ordered a review of royal housing arrangements involving Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice as part of a wider examination of royal finances and property use.

While the arrangements are privately funded through the Duchy of Lancaster rather than taxpayer money, the findings have sparked wider debate about transparency and the financial structure of the monarchy.

The review forms part of a broader examination of royal property use that was initially triggered by questions surrounding Prince Andrew’s former lease at Royal Lodge.

The inquiry is expected to expand further later this month, with lawmakers examining whether existing housing arrangements for both working and non-working royals remain appropriate under King Charles’ vision for a modern monarchy.
