Zara Tindall rocked the most understated ensemble on 9 May as she attended Badminton Horse Trials with husband Mike and their three children, Mia, 12, Lena, seven, and Lucas, five.
Appearing in photos exclusive to HELLO!, Zara, 44, was seen in a sweet interaction with her son while wearing the ‘Hunter’ plaid shirt by Rails. The cowgirl-style shirt, which retails for £178, featured a collar neckline and classic button-down front.

The daughter of Princess Anne wore the shirt unbuttoned with a white tank top underneath and paired it with light-wash jeans and a pair of round sunglasses.
“Zara has an innate way of making casual clothes look preened and stylish, and this lightly checked shirt and jeans combo is giving cowgirl fashion, but in a classic, timeless way,” Laura Sutcliffe, HELLO!‘s Fashion and Beauty News Editor, says. “The lightly flannelled material sits well and is lightly tailored, but the pastel colourway is fun and playful, and complements the stonewash jeans well – another cowgirl essential.”

Zara’s cowgirl wardrobe
It’s not the first time the pro equestrian has channelled her inner cowgirl. In February, Zara attended a cowboy-themed night in the US where she was seen with Mike on the back of a mechanical bull, wearing a white tee and a brown Stetson-style hat.

Meanwhile, all the way back in 2006, Zara joined Prince William‘s then-girlfriend, Kate Middleton, at The Rundle Cup Day at Tidworth Polo Club. She wore a straw cowgirl hat teamed with white shorts and a heavy brown leather belt that looked straight from the rodeo.
Zara Tindall meets guests during a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
The royal’s look for the Badminton Horse Trials was a stark contrast to her formal outfit worn to a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 8 May. Joining the Prince and Princess of Wales at the event, Zara stunned in Leolin’s ‘Cleo’ dress in a gorgeous azure dress.
It featured a crew neckline and a floral cut-out skirt. The royal made a couple of tiny tweaks to make it more appropriate for the occasion, adding puffed sleeves and a skinny belt to cinch the waist.
Accessorised to perfection, the mother-of-three added the ‘Bondi’ hat by Sarah Cant, as well as the ‘Rebecca Pumps’ in Duck Egg by Emmy London, to match her Aspinal of London ‘Mayfair’ clutch that featured their ‘Blue English Garden Hand Embroidery’. Tying the blue accents together, Zara rounded off her look with the ‘Rose Dorée Blue Beryl Earrings’ from Hector Lion’s Giverny collection, as identified by Royal Fashion Police on Instagram.
