Former child star, Danny Pintauro, is proudly embracing a new chapter in his career, as he was refreshingly honest about what life is really like for child actors in their midlife.

The 50-year-old, best known for playing Jonathan Bower on the hit sitcom Who’s the Boss?, has revealed that he is currently working as an Amazon Flex delivery driver while continuing to pursue acting opportunities.

On an episode of the Pod Meets World Podcast, Danny was candid following a post that went viral of the star delivering Amazon packages in April: “It’s one of the five different gig jobs that I’m doing right now,” he admitted. “We’re gig actors. Acting is the gig. It’s one of the six gigs.”

The Timetalkers star emphasized that actors have to make a living just like the average person, revealing that he juggles multiple jobs in part because he doesn’t make money from residual checks.

“We have to do what we have to do to survive,” he continued. “We have got to keep moving as humans. And I know you can all relate to what that looks like. We’re all doing it. I am not different from you in that sense.”

Danny, who first found fame as one of television’s most recognisable child stars, appearing alongside Tony Danza, Judith Light and Alyssa Milano for the show’s entire eight-season run. Years later, however, says the realities of modern Hollywood have required him to explore a more flexible rotation of jobs while continuing to explore his passion through acting.

He was also not afraid to share the setbacks and the harsh treatment from the public he received following his time in the spotlight.

“For a long time, it was that they loved to see the downfall,” he said. “There is something about that. Just humans love to see other people being miserable… and especially someone that they have placed on such a pedestal to see that person come down a bunch of levels.”

The star recalled that fans had made fun of him for taking on a summer job at The Gap “just for fun”, toward the end of his run on the sitcom.

Now however, it seems the actor is no longer ashamed of his side hustles, captioning a snap of himself delivering parcels back in April with: ‘There’s no shame in staying in motion. Working hard while “not working,”‘ he wrote.
