She may be the queen of the big screen, but British actress Anya Taylor-Joy has always been fashion royalty in our hearts – and her latest look will show you why.
The 30-year-old Furiousa actress left us completely spellbound on Wednesday when she slipped into her mesmerising contribution to the ‘naked dress’ trend that has taken Hollywood by storm.
The Queen’s Gambit actress was in London promoting her latest film, Lucky, and looked nothing short of flawless in the minidress, which was comprised of a plunging lace top and an elegant Tiffany blue silk skirt.
And the blonde A-lister didn’t scrimp on her accessories for the occasion. Anya was covered in an opulent array of exquisite pieces from Tiffany, including the Tiffany Knot earrings, bracelet, and ring, and a Bird on a Rock by Tiffany & Co.
As for her glam, the Split starlet wore her trademark blonde locks poker-straight. Meanwhile, Anya’s makeup for the occasion accentuated the star’s natural English rose features and was comprised of mascara, rosy blusher and pink lips.
Anya’s look was complete with a fresh manicure, the Hollywood starlet choosing a complimentary white chrome polish on her almond-shaped nails. On her feet were a pair of barely-there open-toe stilettos in black, which also featured a leg-lengthening ankle strap.
Anya’s special connection to fashion
Talking to Harper’s Bazaar, Anya revealed that making bold choices with her red carpet looks helped her feel more confident, describing it as her “armour.”
She told the publication: “Fashion began as a means of feeling comfortable. The actual experience of a red carpet was so anxiety-inducing for me. I found that if I was making it about something more artful, then I just turned off a part of my brain that usually would be afraid, and that made me excited about it instead. It really does feel like a kind of armour.”
Anya continued: “But the deeper I got, the more obsessed with fashion I became. I love fashion history – being able to look at designs and seeing how events in the world influenced each piece or how the designer responded to trends.”
“I’m very obsessive when choosing red-carpet looks; I’m not chill in that regard,” she said laughing. “It’s very much part of the job for me. I see these red carpets as my bon voyage to each character I play.”
