Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kamala Harris made for an unexpected duo at the Austrian World Summit. The former Republican Governor of California and the former Democratic Vice President attended the event hosted on Tuesday of this week, with both advocating for a cause they deeply care about: the environment.
The Austrian World Summit was founded by Schwarzenegger in 2017, being hosted on a yearly basis to discuss the climate. This year, the program involved discussions on topics like pollution, sustainable food, and fostering future leadership to spearhead environmental initiatives.
Harris was one of this year’s speakers, taking the stage alongside Schwarzenegger for a discussion about climate. “This is an issue that should be considered nonpartisan,” she said.
In the case of Schwarzenegger, he encouraged attendees and people from all over the world to take the health of the world seriously. “Stop making excuses and start doing something. That’s exactly why our motto this year is: We are unstoppable,” he said.

“And what the people are telling us is that they want things to be better. And in some places, what that sounds like is ‘we want that to be broken.’ But they don’t necessarily mean break it through destruction.”
Despite the fact that they represent different political parties, the two emphasized the importance of the environment and how people of all parties should be uniting to confront the issue. They’ve also served as two of the most vocal critics of Donald Trump in recent years.
Schwarzenegger’s endorsement of Harris for President

In a post on X, Schwarzenegger revealed he was making an exception to his rule of avoiding endorsing presidential candidates. “Let me be honest with you: I don’t like either party right now,” he wrote. “I want to tune out. But I can’t.”
Schwarzenegger shared his disagreements with Trump and his administration, revealing that he would be voting for Harris. “I will always be an American before I am a Republican. That’s why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
