Ben Fogle had his followers in stitches when he shared a photo of his bizarre sleeping arrangements at his £2.2 million Henley-upon-Thames home during the UK heatwave.
The New Lives in the Wild star, 52, posted an Instagram snap of himself lying in bed – in his garden. It appeared the presenter and adventurer had transported his mattress, duvet and pillow outside, unable to cope with the stuffiness of his family home as temperatures soared.
The unconventional set-up offered a good look at the beautiful garden he shares with wife Marina Fogle and their children Ludovic and Iona.
The spacious lawn was bordered by a wooden fence, with an impressive wildflower plot adding a pop of colour to the verdant space. “Gonna be one of those weeks………Happy Monday everyone. Hope this puts a smile on your face,” he penned.
Ben’s followers were loving his humorous approach to the heatwave, joking that he could at least have pitched a tent in his garden like the rest of them. “Very middle class. Surely you’ve got a sleeping bag?!,” one follower joked.
Ben Fogle’s family home
Ben and his wife Marina’s Henley home is seriously impressive, boasting 1.3 acres of land, a private tennis court and a swimming pool. The couple, who tied the knot in 2006, relocated to the Oxfordshire countryside in 2020, and they have been enjoying the “rural” lifestyle ever since.
Ben made the decision to live in Henley full-time after feeling like he wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of London for the peace and quiet of nature.
“Although we have a place in London, I was in Fawley more often, which is why we made the decision. It’s my little bit of paradise,” he previously told the Henley Standard.
Speaking about his Henley surroundings, he said: “It’s a beautiful, lovely thriving community here. That’s the kind of setting I’d like my children to grow up in.” The popular TV star admitted he would love to be even more off-grid if it weren’t for his family.
“If I didn’t have a family, I think I would be off,” he also told The Telegraph. “Having grown a massive beard, living an eccentric life in a little cabin in some faraway woods, probably up in Sweden or Norway.
“Without doubt, I get a pang of jealousy when I see how people can live without the complications we create in our own lives, living the Western, materialistic lives that we do.”
Ben has shared several glimpses inside his stunning abode in the past, including a peek at another angle of his sprawling garden, which is evidently very popular with his two pet dogs.
As for the interiors, they are every bit as tasteful as you’d imagine. He previously unveiled a peek at an extra special, life-sized portrait hanging on the wall of his colourful living room, commemorating his family life.
