Donna Kelce is still on cloud nine! The 73-year-old mother of the groom has shared a glimpse inside her son Travis Kelce and new daughter-in-law Taylor Swift’s wedding, which took place on July 3 in New York City.
Following the star-studded event at Madison Square Garden, Donna spoke out about the big day while attending Macy’s 50th Fourth of July celebration in NYC.
She shared: “I really can’t say a heck of a lot except it was magical, man, magical,” as she spoke to Macy’s in a new video.
In the interview, Donna – who flew in from Orlando, Florida – to NYC to celebrate her son’s wedding – also reflected in the footage about her family’s own Fourth of July traditions. “I remember I used to take the boys down to Lake Erie and we would watch the fireworks in Euclid, Ohio, and we had the best time,” she said.
Donna – known to fans as “Mama Kelce” – made a name for herself during Super Bowl LVII in 2023 when she wore a custom made jersey with both Travis and Jason’s numbers on the back.
The Kelce family are very close, and Donna’s older son Jason, 38, played a special role at his brother’s wedding as the best man.
Taylor and Travis said ‘I do’ in front of around 1,000 guests, including many celebrity friends, transforming NYC’s iconic sports arena into a fairytale wedding venue.
Celebrities in attendance included Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Gracie Abrams, Brad Pitt, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Grant and Patrick Mahomes, while Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
When they were married, Madison Square Garden confirmed the happy news by illuminating its exterior digital screens with the message: “JUST&T MARRIED!”, while also referencing Taylor’s iconic hit “Love Story” on social media.
The “Love Story” singer rented the venue for a multi-day event, with a smaller ceremony planned for July 2 in front of 100 guests and a larger celebration the following day. A permit was filed to shut down the streets surrounding MSG with an authorization to erect a canopy or tent outside the arena for 500-999 guests. The permit was filed by event planning company Winick Productions for July 2-4. Additionally, there are no scheduled events at MSG between June 29 and July 6.
Taylor and Travis have yet to share photos of their special day, but some of their guests have posted glimpses from the wedding on social media. Among the first to post was personal trainer Rob Jordan’s wife, Joann Jordan, who shared two photographs from inside the iconic New York venue.
One image showed the couple ascending a sweeping staircase dressed in a rich red carpet, framed by dramatic white and deep pink drapery that transformed the famous arena into an elegant wedding venue. At the top of the staircase, Madison Square Garden staff dressed in black could be seen welcoming guests into what appeared to be the ceremony entrance.
A second photograph captured the couple posing on another grand staircase beneath a sparkling silver chandelier, with oversized wooden doors providing an elegant backdrop. “An unforgettable evening in New York celebrating the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for our dear friends, Travis and Taylor,” she wrote alongside the images. “Love was in the air, the city was magical, and every detail was simply unforgettable!”
