Pamela Anderson is making the best of another year ’round the sun!
The actress took to her Instagram page to share a few glimpses from a birthday vacation to celebrate turning 59 on July 1, and it’s safe to say, a new year definitely looks great on her.
“Thank you for the beautiful birthday wishes… May all your dreams come true today too,” the star captioned her post, signing off: “Love, P.”
While she didn’t specify where she was holidaying, some of the visual landmarks suggest she’s spending the summer in Saint-Tropez in the south of France.
In her lead image, Pamela wore a white linen dress with a matching headscarf, exploring the streets with her basket of goodies, and sporting her now-signature natural beauty.
In other visuals, she captured some of the picturesque beauty of the tropical getaway, herself walking the cobblestone streets in a variety of summer dresses, and even enjoying a quick dip in a yellow one-piece bathing suit.
Fans inundated the star’s post with several birthday wishes, leaving comments like: “May every year be your best year yet!!” and: “Happy birthday to the most incredible woman in the world. Thank you for inspiring so many people just by being unapologetically yourself,” plus: “A beautiful mermaid,” as well as: “Happy Birthday. You look so beautiful and peaceful.”
A new Pamela Anderson
After decades of being typecast as the Hollywood sex symbol from Baywatch, Pamela experienced a career resurgence in the 2020s with the decision to start challenging herself with more varied projects, plus a reappraisal of her past work and public image.
Her 2023 Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story shone greater light on the tenderness behind her screen persona, plus her Broadway debut in Chicago, her acclaimed and award-nominated turn in The Last Showgirl, and a comedic comeback with The Naked Gun all served to reintroduce her to audiences in a new way, as well as her pivot to makeup-free beauty.
“I’ve been busy and learning a lot, I want to challenge myself and create very different characters from myself,” she recently told Rolling Stone AU/NZ. “I have a lot to draw from and I am very intense about my preparation and work – I give everything I am, and even surprise myself when a director digs something out of me I didn’t know existed. It’s better than therapy!”
Touching also on Hollywood’s changing standards when it comes to ageism and varied roles for women, she noted: “I think there have always been roles for older women – just no-one wanted to play them. I love playing older!”
The decision to embrace her age on screen also factored into her “personal experiment” to abandon makeup and full glam for recent red carpets. “I appreciate the love I’ve received from this personal experiment of mine – it’s something I did for myself,” Pamela added.
“It’s a journey, I save a lot of time! But I also love makeup, it’s just not something I must do to feel better. I believe in great skin care, but simple not over promised or gimmicky.”
