The American singer, Gracie Abrams, has shared an incredibly rare insight into her relationship with Irish actor Paul Mescal, and their “creative home.”
The celebrity couple have been dating for around two years, but kept their relationship largely under wraps, only making their red carpet debut together in February this year.
Now, the singer has revealed that Paul, 30, has collaborated with her on a new song, ” Imaginary Friend, for her upcoming album, Daughter From Hell, and shared insight into their “creative home.”
Talking on the New York Times podcast Popcast, Gracie, 26, said: “We have a very creative home with friends who are so good at what they do, and everyone feels happy to share that with one another.”
When asked about the potential criticism and intrusion into her private life that might come as a result of being more open about their relationship, she added, “I don’t like the feeling of hiding. I also love privacy where it feels like the right thing.
© FilmMagic“I always like try to assume the absolute worst case scenario of everything, and then anything else is like pleasant.
“I also think if you know how happy your experience was, making something, or how much you learned about yourself or your partner, or whatever the thing is, no amount of hate or trolling could take that away.
“I think that’s a part of my life that brings me so much peace and joy, and I’m not going to pretend like that’s not true, but I also think it’s not like an open door policy.”
Of the new track and Paul’s contribution, she said: “It was so fun to write together.”
Paul and Gracie’s low-key relationship
The pair were first spotted together in June 2024, seemingly on a date in London, but despite photos of the pair enjoying time together, they kept their romance under wraps.
It wasn’t until the following year, in June 2025, that they went Instagram official when Gracie shared a ‘photo dump’ of her weekend at Glastonbury, which featured loved-up snaps with Paul, as well as snaps with his sister, Nell Mescal and his close friend, Daisy Edgar-Jones, who watched Gracie’s set together.
Red carpet debut
In February, the couple made their red carpet debut at the BAFTA Film Awards in London.

Ahead of their big moment on the red carpet, Paul was asked by Rolling Stone about the decision to go public with their romance. To which Paul replied: “I actually do have an answer, but everything to do with that is deeply precious to me and I don’t want to… I want to protect those things fundamentally.”
