Jamie Lee Curtis is grieving the loss of her older sister, Kelly Curtis, who has died at the age of 69.
The actress shared the sad news with fans on Instagram on Saturday, revealing that Kelly passed away peacefully at home earlier that morning. While Jamie Lee did not disclose a cause of death, she reflected on the close bond they shared throughout their lives.
The sisters were born into one of Hollywood’s most famous families as the daughters of legendary actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.
A Lifelong Friend and Confidante
In her emotional tribute, Jamie Lee described Kelly as much more than a sibling.
“A warm aloha to my older sister, Kelly Lee Curtis. She passed away this morning. In her home. In nature. At peace,” she wrote.
The Halloween star went on to celebrate her sister’s many qualities, calling her “my first friend and lifelong confidant.”
Jamie Lee also praised Kelly’s beauty and talent, writing: “She was jaw droppingly beautiful, and a talented actress.”
