Jennifer Lopez is feeling the feels ahead of her twins Max and Emme, who now goes by Oskar, leaving the family home for college.
The actress and singer, 56, took to Instagram on Friday, June 26 with a few new photos from recent months, including promo for Office Romance, lounge time, and her 18-year-old teens’ respective college graduation ceremonies.
JLo’s walk down memory lane
Jennifer included snaps from both Max and Oskar’s respective graduations, including one in which she hugs her son, wearing a ceremonial lei, another in which Oskar sat by a large sign for “Class of 2026,” and one of their customized graduation cap, decorated with horses and reading: “Not my last rodeo.”
The proud mom-of-two captioned the post with: “They say I’m lucky, I don’t disagree…Just this feeling,” aka lyrics pulled from her latest musical collab “Everything’s Fine” with DJ Alok.
JLo’s tribute to her “wonder twins”
On their big 18th birthday in February, the Marry Me star shared a sweet tribute to her twins. “You were born in the middle of the night, in the midst of the biggest, most beautiful snowstorm NY had seen in years!!” she recalled.
“I remember riding in the car and looking out the window, where everything was twinkling and covered in white that night, as I held you both in my belly for the last few moments before I gave birth to you. It was as if God was making sure you would enter a world full of pure magic!! In my heart, I knew that’s how your life would always be!!”
She continued: “I cannot believe you are now adults…18 years old! You are both so kind-hearted, generous, and loving. How lucky the world was on this day 18 years ago when God decided to send you here with all of your talents and spirit and heart to make this world a better place, because that is what you do for me and anyone who is lucky enough to know you both every day.”
Affectionately calling them her “coconuts,” Jennifer alluded to their close bond in the wake of her split from their dad Marc Anthony, plus her other romantic relationships. “It has always been the three of us!!”
“We have always had each other to hold on to and be that steady presence in the middle of any snowstorm. And I promise you, my beautiful coconuts, no matter how big you get, that’s how it will always be,” she gushed. “Always remember, Lulu, you are my sunshine…and Max, you’re amazing just the way you are,” concluding with: “Happy 18th Birthday, my wonder twins!!!”
Jennifer’s “hard and emotional time” with her twins leaving
Speaking on The Kelly Clarkson Show recently about her twins leaving home, Jennifer dubbed it a “hard and emotional time,” trying to hold back the tears as she continued: “It’s a lot of mixed feelings.”
“You want them to get out there and have a great time. They’re waiting to start their lives.” The twins are headed to different colleges as well, and the mom-of-two want them to experience everything life has to offer in this new stage.
“I remember how exciting that time [in my life] was for me,” she shared. “But I also feel like they’re leaving home in a couple of months and won’t be back. [It just feels like] the house falling on your chest.”
