There was more than one reason to celebrate at Joanna Gaines‘ household this weekend.
On Sunday, April 19, the Magnolia founder rang in her 48th trip around the sun.
Moreover, the special weekend coincided with her and husband Chip Gaines’ kids prom night.
Over the busy weekend, Joanna took to Instagram and shared a video of her prom night prep, including clips of her using flowers from her vast garden to arrange several bouquets.
The sweet video also featured a look at Joanna’s son Duke, 17, looking dapper in a suit, as well as one of her daughter Emmie Kay, 16, helping her pick out flowers for the bouquets.
“Nothing like hanging in the garden all day for prom prep with some sweet mamas. When the kids showed up they were gracious to let us take a million pics of them,” Joanna then wrote in her caption.
Fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over the sweet moment, with one writing: “So beautiful!! The flower bouquets are gorgeous!!” as others followed suit with: “The flowers are gorgeous. And no doubt the kids are as well,” and: “Stunning!! Those bouquets are so beautiful!!!” as well as: “The ground covered in petals and stem cuttings is so real! What a beautiful life.”
Later on Sunday, Joanna’s special day, her husband Chip also took to Instagram and shared a sweet tribute, posting a heartwarming photo of the two cracking up.
“My ride or die,” he then wrote in his caption, adding: “My partner in crime. My favorite person to have by my side. Happy birthday, Jo! I love you!!”
Joanna and Chip, 51, have been married since 2003, and in addition to Duke and Emmie Kay, are also parents to son Drake, 20, who is in his second year of college, daughter Ella Rose, 19, who is also off in college, and son Crew, seven.
Earlier this month Joanna also celebrated her father Jerry Stevens’ 76th birthday, and shared photos featuring her mom and two sisters.
Joanna’s parents, dad Jerry and mom Nan Stevens, met while the former was stationed in South Korea in 1969, and eventually made their way to Waco, Texas. They are also parents to daughters Mary Kay McCall and Teresa Criswell.
