Kai Trump is sharing an update on the health of her mom, Vanessa Trump. Vanessa was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, shocking her family. Kai was a guest at this year’s ESPY Awards, hosted at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The award show celebrates sports, recognizing individual and team achievements during the calendar year.
“My mom’s doing good,” said Kai to Page Six with a smile. “She’s doing better.”
Vanessa Trump shared the news of her cancer diagnosis on social media, revealing she had breast cancer. “While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” Vanessa said in a written statement on Instagram.
© Deadline via Getty ImagesShe asked for privacy while focusing on her recovery. “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me. Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express,” she concluded.
In June of this year, she revealed she was undergoing the second stage of her cancer treatment after recovering from surgery. She shared a statement saying she was “grateful to be healing and moving forward.”
“Sending love, strength, and hope to everyone fighting this battle.”
Vanessa didn’t specify the type of breast cancer she was diagnosed with, nor the next steps of her treatment.

Over the past couple of years, Kai Trump has become a prominent figure in her family, creating a presence as an influencer by sharing videos and photos about her life and the events she has access to as a member of the Trump family.
She’s interested in pursuing a career as a professional golfer, and will soon start her college education at the University of Miami, where she’ll join the school’s golf team.
Kai has spoken about her close relationship with Donald Trump and some of the tips she’s learned from him when it comes to golf. “Enjoy every moment of it. It’s going to be rocky, but enjoy every moment of it,” she said at the ESPYS red carpet.
She’s also shared the advice she’s received from Tiger Woods, who’s currently dating her mother and is one of the best golfers in the world. “I mean, he is the best golfer in the entire world. I would say that. And even better person,” she said to Fox News last year. “He told me to go out there and have fun and just go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens.”
