Kaia Gerber faces new heartache as beloved cat goes missing following family tragedy

Kaia Gerber is facing another difficult moment just days after the devastating death of her older brother, Presley Gerber.

The 25-year-old model and actress’ cat, Tony, has gone missing in the Hollywood Hills, prompting her boyfriend, Lewis Pullman, and close friends to join the search.

Pullman, influencer Jake Shane and director Carissa Gallo were photographed in the neighborhood on Wednesday, September 23, putting up “Lost Cat” posters and searching the area for Tony.

According to the flyers, Tony is a gray cat with green eyes who was last seen on Tuesday. The posters describe him as shy and note that he is wearing a tracker. A reward is also being offered for his safe return.

Photos obtained by TMZ show the group walking through the Hollywood Hills and attaching flyers around the neighborhood. At one point, the friends were also seen embracing one another as they continued their search.

The search comes during an incredibly painful week for Kaia and her family following the death of her brother, Presley, on September 20 at the age of 27.

Lewis, who has been dating Kaia for nearly two years, appears to be among those staying close to her during this difficult period. The couple made their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival in 2025 and have largely kept their relationship away from the spotlight.

Jake has also been seen supporting Kaia in recent days. The influencer was photographed arriving at her Los Angeles home following Presley’s death.

Kaia has yet to publicly address her brother’s passing. A representative for her parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, confirmed Presley’s death and asked for privacy on behalf of the family. “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative said.

Kaia is reportedly ‘heartbroken’

Kaia and Presley shared an exceptionally close bond. A source recently said to Page Six that Kaia was taking the loss “very, very hard” and described her as “heartbroken” following her brother’s death.

Just weeks before his passing, Kaia had spoken candidly about their relationship and the impact Presley’s struggles had on their family.

In Vogue’s September cover story, she reflected on growing up alongside her brother in Malibu and how his willingness to be vulnerable about his experiences had influenced her own perspective.

The siblings also navigated the unusual experience of entering the modeling industry together, later appearing alongside their mother at fashion events and campaigns.

One of Presley’s final public family appearances came in May, when he joined Cindy and Rande in Los Angeles to support Kaia at the launch of her RE/DONE collaboration.

Now, amid an already painful period for the family, Kaia’s closest friends appear to be surrounding her with support while also helping bring Tony home safely.
