Karol G is no stranger to bold statements, but her forearm tattoo has sparked a new wave of curiosity. In a revealing moment on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the global superstar broke down the deeply personal meaning behind the ink that features three faces—two legendary women and one unexpected addition.

During her conversation with Alex Cooper, Karol G shared that the tattoo on her left forearm represents the three people she admires most: Rihanna, Selena Quintanilla, and her own identity, Carolina. “The three people that I admire the most in my life, and it’s always been the same,” she explained while pointing to the tattoo. “And it’s Rihanna, Selena Quintanilla and Carolina — that is me.”

At first glance, including her own face might seem unconventional. But for Karol G, it carries a powerful message rooted in resilience, growth, and self-recognition.

Why Karol G Included Herself

Karol G didn’t shy away from addressing the obvious question. Why tattoo yourself? “It’s hard to say that you have a tattoo of yourself in your body,” she admitted. “But for me it’s kind of like I’m the only one that knows how hard it has been, life for me in different situations.”

Her ink is about honoring her journey. She continued, “If there’s someone that I admire a lot, it’s myself. I kind of just sit down sometimes, and I say, like, ‘Wow, I don’t know how I did this?’” That perspective reframes the tattoo entirely. She doesn’t see it as vanity but as a documentation of survival and success.

The Influence of Selena Quintanilla and Rihanna

Karol G’s tattoo also pays tribute to two defining figures in her life and career. She spoke passionately about Selena Quintanilla, calling her a symbol of Latina identity and cultural pride. “If there’s something that represents a Latina girl, it’s Selena Quintanilla,” she said.

Then there’s Rihanna, whom she described with admiration for her multifaceted success. From music to business to motherhood, Rihanna embodies the kind of evolution Karol G respects.

“And then it’s Rihanna, she’s my baby,” she added, emphasizing the personal connection she feels to the global icon.

Karol G’s Career Milestones and Cultural Impact

Born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, Karol G has rapidly become one of the most influential figures in Latin music. Her chart-topping hits like “Provenza” and “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” have cemented her as a genre leader, while her album Mañana Será Bonito made history on the Billboard 200.
