Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon show off beach bodies as they celebrate ‘summer’ with photo

Things are heating up for Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon! The couple celebrated the warmer weather with a sweet throwback photo together on a yacht. 

Kyra wore a pink bikini that peeked out from her white vest, and she teamed her summery ensemble with a pair of ripped denim shorts. 

In the image, a shirtless Kevin had his arm thrown around her shoulders and they beamed for the camera with the sea behind them.

Kevin captioned the post: “When the weather starts feeling like summer. #TBT @kyrasedgwickofficial,” to which Kyra responded by quoting the Grease song lyric: “Summer lovin’ happened so fast,” and added a blowing kisses emoji.

The couple sparked up a romance when they were both working on the 1987 PBS film adaptation of the play Lemon Sky. 

However, Kyra later confessed: “He definitely wasn’t my type.” Kevin worked his charm and they got engaged later that same year.

The acting icons tied the knot on September 4, 1988, during a private ceremony. 

In an interview with Redbook in 2008 Kyra admitted that in retrospect, the pair barely knew each other when they got married, despite how close they felt.

“When I look back at our first four years… by that time we’d had our second kid, and I look back at those pictures and I think: ‘Gosh, I didn’t know him at all!’ I loved him, but I didn’t know him, and he probably didn’t know me. But you grow together and learn more about each other,” she revealed. 

Secrets to a happy marriage

When asked about the secret to their happy marriage, she said: “Everyone has marital struggles — I don’t buy the ‘Oh, it’s so hard, actors being married…

“Marriage is hard for everyone. So when we’re on the red carpet and we get the ‘How do you guys do it? No one can stay together,’ I get really irritated. I don’t think our relationship is more or less difficult; I just think you both make the commitment and you make it work.”

She continued: “We always knew that we were each other’s ‘one.’ Both of us knew this was forever and we were going to work it out no matter what happens, so when we fight, it’s not so scary.”

And, she admits that when it comes to their love story: “Honestly, we just got lucky, there’s no secret, we just got so lucky when we were so young.”
