Royal fans are nothing short of delighted when Lady Louise Windsor, the 22-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, steps out at public events.
The University of St Andrews student is following in the footsteps of her royal cousin, Prince William, meaning she isn’t seen as regularly at public events as her family members.
Louise is yet to make an appearance at Royal Ascot, unlike her brother James, 16, who made his debut at the annual horse race on Friday, and she was missing from Saturday’s Trooping the Colour last week.
We are certainly missing the delights of Louise alongside senior members of the firm, and it got us thinking about one of our favourite summer fashion moments from the university student.
© GettyCast your minds back to June 2024. Lady Louise stepped out in a gorgeous blue floral gown by Suzannah London. The long-sleeve number was complete with a beautiful blue hat from Louise’s mother, Duchess Sophie’s collection.
Prince Edward’s wife wore the Jane Taylor London piece to Royal Ascot in 2023. The label makes many royal headbands, and Louise’s epic creation comes complete with applique flowers.
Where is Lady Louise?
Royal fans saw a lot of Louise prior to the summer royal calendar kicking off in full swing.
Last month, she was spotted laughing with Lieutenant Colonel Jonny Thompson, AKA everyone’s favourite ‘hot equerry’, while at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
© Getty ImagesHELLO! had previously revealed earlier in the month that the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh was working behind-the-scenes at the show for several years as she wraps up her English degree.
Our attention was caught by the surprising friendship that was clearly on display as they watched the horses together.
We got multiple glimpses of Louise hard at work, and even sporting a hi-vis jacket during one moment at the British horse show.
Duchess Sophie has previously explained why it’s likely Lady Louise won’t be largely involved in royal life, revealing that is why she didn’t allow Louise and James to have their HRH titles.
“Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely,” Sophie told The Sunday Times.
She explained at the time that despite having a “grandmother who lives in a castle,” the sibling duo had a very normal upbringing.
“At weekends, we do lots of dog walking and stay with friends. I guess not everyone’s grandparents live in a castle, but where you are going is not the important part, or who they are. When they are with the Queen, she is their grandmother.”
