Lauren Sánchez opened up about her longtime struggle with dyslexia, revealing that she is “not embarrassed anymore” after years of criticism and self-doubt.

Alongside a video featuring clips from her television career, including some of her on-air mistakes, Sánchez reflected on how far she has come in embracing the learning difference that shaped much of her professional journey.

“I made a lot of mistakes on air. You can see me laugh and say oops. (A lot) But behind that smile? Fear. Embarrassment,” she wrote. Sánchez went on to reveal that harsh criticism early in her career deeply affected her confidence.

“Critics said I didn’t deserve to be there. That one hurt. I tried not to show it and I just kept showing up every single day,” she shared. The 56-year-old explained that while dyslexia still presents challenges, she no longer feels ashamed of it.

“I still mess up words. I still reread things three or four times. But I’m not embarrassed anymore. Took me a long time to get here,” Sánchez wrote.

She has recalled being diagnosed as a child and facing challenges with reading and learning, experiences that sometimes left her feeling isolated.

Despite those obstacles, Sánchez refused to let the condition define her future. She has frequently credited perseverance, hard work, and the support of teachers and family members for helping her succeed in a highly competitive broadcasting career.
