Prince Harry, 41, is currently on a solo visit to Ukraine and after giving an impassioned speech at Kyiv Security Forum, he has been pictured at The National War Memorial Cemetery in Kyiv, laying flowers on the graves of unknown Ukrainian servicemen amid the Russian invasion.

The Duke of Sussex looked sombre in a dark coat as he paid his respects to the fallen soldiers and he could be seen sporting his multiple military medals he earned during his career for the British Army. Harry knelt at one graveside and gently placed a bunch of red roses down, before standing to reflect. Harry also stopped to sign the guest book during the visit.

Wearing his British medals would likely be a bittersweet moment for the Prince as he is incredibly proud of his military involvement, but now he has a strained relationship with his father, King Charles, who is head of the British monarchy.

Prince Harry’s politically-charged speech

The Duke’s speech at the Kyiv Security Forum on 23 April has ruffled the feathers of US president Donald Trump as he called on America to take action. “This is a moment for American leadership, a moment for America to show that it can honor its international treaty obligations, not out of charity but out of its own enduring role in global security and strategic stability,” he said.

Shortly after the speech, Trump was asked about Harry’s recommendations and he clapped back with: “Prince Harry? How’s he doing? How’s his wife? Please give her my regards.

“I know one thing, Prince Harry is not speaking for the UK, that’s for sure. I think I am speaking for the UK more than Prince Harry.”

Harry’s comments on royal family

In an interview in Ukraine, Harry spoke to ITV’s Chris Ship. When asked about being a non-working royal, Harry said: “I will always be part of the royal family and I’m here working, doing the very thing I was born to do and I enjoy doing it. I enjoy being able to do these trips and support the people that I’ve met before and the friends that I’ve made.”

Harry and his father are estranged at the moment

This was a rare comment from Harry about his relationship with the British monarchy now. Perhaps there will be a reconciliation with his father and brother someday soon. If so, there could be hopes that Harry will bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet over to the UK.
