For the The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere, every single player brought their A-game. From Anne Hathaway’s custom Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière to Meryl Streep’s Givenchy cape, it was as chic as you’d expect – with not a floral or cerulean blue sweater in sight. As you’d expect from these women, their hair and beauty was on point too. And it’s Emily Blunt’s simple yet achingly cool glossy bun, the perfect teammate to her sculptural Schiaparelli gown, that had me in awe.
Her hairstylist, Laini Reeves, didn’t gatekeep the products she used on her famous client’s hair either, which we thank her for. And I love that it was a slew of affordable Tresemme products that the celebrity stylist used to style Emily’s brunette locks.
- Emily Blunt joined Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci at The Devil Wears Prada 2 NYC premiere.
- Her stylist, Laini Reeves, revealed the product she used to achieve Emily’s slicked back bun.
- The key product? A $13 repairing oil that reduces breakage and brings the shine.
Emily is in her 40s, like me, and my hair has definitely lost its gloss and shine since turning 40. This oil is designed to smooth flyaways, giving a more polished finish, reduce breakage (a big plus) and strengthen hair too.
Stylist Laini posted the full breakdown on Instagram, she revealed she primed Emily’s hair with the All-In-One Style Primer before applying the oil “from root to ends, giving the hair that polished, wet-look sheen.”
It should be used as the final step in your haircare routine, post shampoo and condition and applied to dry, clean hair. We love a multi-functional product that not only helps our hair on the outside, but on the inside too. And with all of the red carpet events Amal attends, her hair must be put through its paces with heat treatments and styling products so this could be a nifty serum to keep in your haircare repertoire, especially during the holiday season when we tend to over-process our hair a little more.
TRESemmé Bonding Oil – shopper reviews
I’m all for an affordable product that seems to sort a host of hair problems, but does it live up to the more expensive products out there?
According to shoppers at Amazon, in a word, yes. One customer, who used the oil for a couple of weeks, enthused: “I can confidently say that my hair has become noticeably shinier, softer, and more hydrated. I’m specifically trying to repair long-term damage caused by frequent heat styling, and I can attest that this oil, when used together with the matching cream from the same line, has worked exceptionally well for my hair. I’m genuinely impressed with the results.”
A frequent comment is the “incredible” scent of the oil, and the usage – many reported a little goes a long way, so to be cautious when pumping it into your palm.
I like the advice of one shopper, who said they used it on wet hair, left it to air dry and left her hair smooth, flyaway-free and super glossy; that’s something not easily achieved by air-drying hair, so this oil could be the key to that much-lusted after, expensive looking hairstyle.
