Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid‘s daughter is looking so grown up in rare new photos from a very special celebration recently.
On 19 September, the famous former couple’s daughter Khai turned six. While Gigi and Zayn tend to keep their child out of the limelight, Zayn marked his daughter’s birthday this year with ultra-rare photos of Khai from her fun-filled weekend.
“Khai’s 6th birthday this weekend!! Big thank you to everyone who made it extra special,” Zayn captioned a series of photos of his daughter and her friends having the best time at the indoor theme park, American Dream in New York City, and celebrating quietly with rainbow streamers and a “Happy Birthday” banner at home.
“The girls had the BEST time!” the One Direction alum gushed. “The cake is epic,” he added.
The birthday girl looked so adorable in a Squishmallow-themed rainbow dress for her party with her hair in the longest braid as she played an arcade game.
Zayn was on dad duty in one photo, lighting the candles on his daughter’s cake. The birthday girl had another rainbow cake for her party which was four tiers and had Khai’s name written in big, bold letters on the base.

Although Gigi and Zayn split in October 2021 after six years of dating on and off, the exes have continued to privately co-parent their daughter.
The pair have shared the occasional rare glimpse at Khai’s childhood, with rare photos from her birthday celebrations over the years, choosing to keep her privacy by obscuring her face.

Writing a heartfelt message alongside a photo of him holding his little girl at the beach, Zayn said: “I love you more than words allow me to express, beyond proud to call you my daughter.. grateful for every second I get to spend next to you, as you become the incredible person I know you already are.”
“Four years ago today my life changed forever and I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you,” he added.
Khai looked like her mum Gigi’s mini-me in snaps shared by the supermodel for Khai’s fifth birthday last year, which they celebrated with a backyard party. “Celebrating you is the Best Day Ever, every year,” Gigi, who hugged her little girl in one adorable photo from the Instagram carousel, wrote. “Happy 5th Birthday to the light of my life! You are truly everything. So lucky & proud to be your mama!!!!!!!”

The pair sort their custody schedules “months in advance”. Gigi explained to Vogue last year: “That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other’s backs.”
“There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything. And at the end of the day, we’re not interested in giving everyone our whole story. What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other, and not just as co-parents, but what we’ve been through together,” she added.
