Aryna Sabalenka shares sweet matching tattoo moment with young fan at Wimbledon

Aryna Sabalenka delivered more than one winning performance at Wimbledon. The World No. 1 also created one of the tournament’s most heartwarming moments after noticing a young fan in the crowd with a matching tiger tattoo.

Following her second-round victory over McCartney Kessler, Sabalenka spotted the child proudly showing off a temporary tiger tattoo that mirrored the one on her own left arm. Without hesitation, the Belarusian star walked over, pulled out her phone, and snapped a photo of their matching tattoos together.

Sabalenka’s tiger tattoo has become one of the defining symbols of her career. Nicknamed “The Tiger,” she has often explained that the tattoo represents her fighting spirit and reminds her to battle until the very last point. It has become closely tied to her identity on the WTA Tour and resonates with fans who admire her relentless style of play. 

Seeing a young supporter recreate that meaningful symbol clearly caught Sabalenka by surprise. The youngster proudly displayed the matching tattoo before the tennis star smiled, leaned in for photos, and made sure to capture the special moment on her own phone.

A Fan Moment That Stole the Show

While Sabalenka’s straight-set win secured her place in the third round, many fans were talking just as much about her interaction after the match.

The video shows the youngster beaming while standing beside one of tennis’ biggest stars, with Sabalenka appearing genuinely delighted by the thoughtful tribute. Wimbledon later shared the clip on its official social media channels, where tennis fans praised the World No. 1 for taking the time to create a lifelong memory for one of her youngest supporters.

The Wimbledon encounter brought back memories of a similar fan moment at the 2024 US Open. During that tournament, Sabalenka met another young supporter who dressed exactly like her, complete with a temporary tiger tattoo and a stuffed tiger toy.

She later said seeing her “mini-me” on the stadium screen was adorable and motivating because inspiring young fans is one of her biggest goals. After the match, she also stopped for photos with the child, as informed by Reuters.
