After subtly confirming their marriage, Zendaya and Tom Holland stepped out for the first back-to-back red carpet events nearly five years after Spider-Man: No Way Home premiered. Amid the press tour for Brand New Day, the couple, who have been together for nearly a decade, have participated in joint and individual interviews around the world. And at the Rome premiere of the MCU film, Tom was heard calling Zendaya “Maree,” as seen in videos circulating on social media.
Both actors were speaking to separate interviewers on the carpet, and at one point, Tom was heard saying, “Maree! What’s the name of that place?” Zendaya turned to face her husband before responding, “Giolitti’s!” which is an Italian pastry and gelato shop. Z said they were going to the location “after this” for some well-deserved sweets.
Though the exchange was adorable, fans unfamiliar with Zendaya’s full name wondered where “Maree” came from.
