Carys Douglas, the daughter of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, is celebrating one of the biggest moments of her career as a young actor. The 23-year-old just made her New York theater debut in the play “The Seagull,” a new interpretation of the Anton Chekhov play. She looks incredibly like her mother.
Douglas took to Instagram to share some photos and special moments of her time in the production, sharing a look at some of her collaborators.
She also shared photos of herself onstage, and some selfies, showing an impressive resemblance to Zeta-Jones. “The Seagull,” Douglas captioned the post. “What a lovely time this was.”
The images show Douglas acting opposite other actors, rehearsing on rooftops, enjoying a drink with the cast and crew, and acting onstage. She also shared a selfie in costume, making a kissy face for the camera while wearing a white and flimsy robe that was likely one of the outfits she wore throughout the production.
© @carysdouglas“The Seagull” ran for a week, from June 20-27, at St. Lydia’s in Brooklyn, with onlookers sharing videos and footage of the performance. Douglas was captured delivering some of her lines onstage and acting alongside her co-stars.
On social media, people couldn’t help but note the similarities between Douglas and her parents. “Stunning. Like her mummy,” wrote a viewer.
“She sounds so much like her mom!!” a second person wrote.
While most noted the similarity Douglas shares with her mom, others mentioned Michael Douglas. “I can see flashes of her dad in her eyes…” wrote a viewer. “The first thing that came to mind was The Streets Of San Francisco, and another up-and-coming actress.”

Last year, Carys Douglas graduated from Brown University with a degree in film and international relations. Over the past months, Douglas has been focused on her acting career, starring in short films and in theater productions.
“I grew up doing theater, and I didn’t study acting in school, but that’s why I’m happy to be in such an informative arts space, so hopefully more of that,” said Douglas in an interview with PEOPLE shortly after her graduation.
She’s a part of one of the most famous acting families in Hollywood. She and her brother Dylan are the kids of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. Michael, in turn, is the son of Kirk Douglas, one of the major figures in old Hollywood and a key figure in establishing the industry’s dominion in cinema.
Michael Douglas also has a son named Cameron from a previous relationship with Diandra Morell.
