It sounded like a plot straight out of one of his horror movies, but Hollywood icon Kevin Bacon genuinely got attacked by a swarm of bees during a chaotic family hiking trip. The veteran actor was out on the trails with his daughter, Sosie Bacon, and her partner, Scoot McNairy, when the outdoor excursion took a sudden and terrifying turn.
Despite the group spotting a beehive ahead and trying to steer clear, a swarm of the buzzing pests completely singled out the Golden Globe winner. According to Kevin, the bees must not have been fans of his legendary filmography because they left his companions completely alone and went full-on after him instead.
The bizarre incident forced the actor into what he later described as an epic bee sting dance as he frantically tried to fight off the pests zooming all over his body. Fortunately for his dignity, Sosie did not pull out her phone to record her dad’s actual struggle in the moment, but the family still found a way to share the hilarious chaos with the world.
Kevin later took to Instagram to post a video of Sosie comedically recreating his wild, flailing movements, which involved her swatting imaginary bees with a baseball cap. The brilliant reenactment even drew praise from Kevin’s wife, Kyra Sedgwick, who hopped into the comments section to declare the performance to be incredibly accurate.
While the bee attack was an unexpected nightmare, the Bacon family has actually been spending a lot of time together lately due to their new collaborative creative project titled Family Movie. Initially, both Sosie and her musician brother, Travis Bacon, admitted to having some major reservations about working so closely with their famous parents due to the inevitable fear of creative arguments and family tensions.
However, the experience ended up bringing the entire family much closer together as they blended their shared love for the horror genre into a cohesive production. Travis, who composed the film’s music, called the final project a deeply collaborative and magical experience that ultimately left everyone in the family feeling heard.
