Rosalía is officially an actress, and as she entered the world of “Euphoria,” she marked the moment with a deeply personal social media post that gave fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at her journey to the series.
The Spanish superstar shared a carousel of photos capturing the whirlwind experience of joining Netflix’s new season of the show, and the images are a roller coaster of emotions. In one close-up selfie, Rosalía appears with teary eyes and a flushed face, which she revealed was her reaction after learning she had landed the role.
Other photos showed her in costume on set, wrapped in a playful black cat-like blanket between takes, showing bruises on her arm from intense rehearsals, and later, polished and glowing in a glam post-filming shot.
Her caption offered even more insight. “This was my face when they confirmed I got the role in Euphoria,” she wrote, revealing it was the first audition of her life, and it was entirely in English. Rosalía admitted the moment felt like a long-held dream arriving when she least expected it.
She also shared just how physically demanding the experience became almost immediately. According to her post, she had less than 48 hours to learn a choreography sequence set to appear in the episode.
The challenge was a pressure-filled request that pushed her hard enough to leave dramatic bruising on her arm. In one of the carousel slides, she even documented the bruises she joked looked like “an entire galaxy” on her bicep. “Imagine having a dream for years and seeing it come true when you least expect it. Then I had to learn a choreography in less than 48 hours (the one that will appear in tonight’s episode), and I remember biting my lip a lot from nerves, and my arm got so bruised it looked like I had an entire galaxy on my bicep,” she wrote.
The post also included a heartfelt nod to Sam Levinson and the production team for trusting her with the role. “Thank you, Sam, and everyone else for believing in me 💜 Forever a fan of Euphoria and so incredibly grateful for this experience.”
Her appearance in “Euphoria” feels like a natural extension of her artistic universe, but also her personal life, as she has been linked to one of the show’s main stars. This sparked fresh excitement about how much of Rosalía’s creative DNA might show up in the series and if her character has any interaction with Jules, played by Hunter Schafer.
During an interview with GQ, Hunter revealed they dated for five months in 2019, and after their split, they remained friends. “She talked it over with Rosalía last night, she says, and is happy to confirm that they dated for about five months in the autumn and winter of 2019,” they informed, adding that “Schafer says it took her a few hangs to suss out the vibe and determine that they were, in fact, going on dates.”
“These days, they’re friends, which is something Schafer is proud of. They’ve been spotted around town recently, getting smoothies and testing out couches,” GQ detailed. “I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with,” the actress said to the publication, describing the singer as “family no matter what.”
“It’s something I’m happy to share. And I think she feels that way too,” she said about Rosalía.
